Bio

Samantha Scripture earned her doctorate in communication science and disorders at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2022. Her research examines how word learners, both children and adults, use multiple cues to learn new words in typical development. She is particularly interested in understanding how the integration of multiple cues can inform best practices for teaching vocabulary. Dr. Scripture is a licensed speech and language pathologist with over a decade of experience working in early intervention. She enjoys bringing the clinical experience into the classroom with hands-on activities to prepare students with skills sets for their future clinical careers. When not teaching or researching, she decorates cakes and cupcakes, reads for fun, and spends time with her nieces and nephew.
