The Spanish Major with a Minor in Secondary Education is intended for those seeking a K-12 teaching certification in Spanish. You will develop fluency in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing skills and will study the culture, history, and literature of Spain and the Americas. By combining Spanish study and teaching practice the program will maximize your potential in today’s professional climate, consolidate your study of the language, and prepare you for admittance into graduate programs.
Courses in Spanish are designed for students whose interests and career plans have an international or multi-ethnic focus. You will develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing fluency and will study the culture, history, and literature of the people who use the language.
