| LIFE AT WSU | Residence Life | Move-In
Move-in is a busy and exciting time for Worcester State University students. The Residence Life and Housing Office has carefully designed move-in dates and times to organize and manage the amount of traffic and guests on campus during that time. So we ask that you stick with your scheduled move-in time. Should you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 508-929-8074.
Sunday, August 30, 2020: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Monday, August 31, 2020: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
We offer early move-in for returning students. This year, there is a $200 charge to move in early to a residence hall. Early-arrival day will be between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday, August 28. You must complete the Early Arrival Request Form to register for an Early Arrival. You can find this form in the MyHousing portal, after August 1st, 2020.
We offer a volunteer waiver for returning students who want to move in early without paying the early-arrival fee. You can take advantage of this option by volunteering to work a shift as a Lancer Lifter during the first-year resident move-in day.
Shifts are from 8 to 11:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 3 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2020. Please note: There is a mandatory Lancer Lifter Training Meeting for all volunteers on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 4 p.m. on the Wasylean Hall patio.
Early move-in registration deadline: Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 5 p.m. (EST)
Always be sure to carry your OneCard and any keys you are issued with you at all times. Your OneCard functions as an access card that operates both the interior and exterior residence hall entrances and room doors.
The best way to ensure your safety and to protect your belongings is to lock your room any time you leave. This is especially important during move-in when there are many people in and around the residence halls.
To make move-in day as easy as possible, blue move-in carts will be available to help you and your family members unload your vehicle. In addition, first-year students will have the assistance of Lancer Lifters for added convenience.
Once your vehicle is unloaded, you will be directed to park elsewhere on campus to keep traffic in the drop-off area moving. Parking will be available throughout lower campus and in the parking garage while you unpack and arrange your belongings. The Wasylean Hall and Dowden Hall parking lots will be closed from August 30, 2020 to September 4, 2020.
If you are a resident student who has been issued a parking decal for the semester, you may purchase that decal from ResLife on your move-in day.
If you have any questions about parking during the semester, please contact the Parking and Transportation Office at email@example.com or 508-929-8887.
Staff will be available around campus to help you with directions.
