Your Worcester State University experience is about to begin! Following your summer Orientation program, New Student Fall Welcome will guide you through the next steps in preparing for your first semester as a new student. This program is mandatory for all new incoming students, including both first-year and transfer students.
New Student Fall Welcome
Before the first day of the classes, you will spend two days acclimating to life as a Worcester State student. Residents and commuters will be participating in a variety of transition-based programming, including social activities, resource fairs, classroom preparedness workshops, and Academic Convocation. This program offers you the opportunity to spend time with your peers and interact with the staff and faculty who will support you throughout your college experience.

Registration is NOT required for this program.
Day one of the New Student Fall Welcome will begin immediately following move-in with a welcome BBQ and nighttime social activities. Residents will also have mandatory floor meetings with their new Resident Assistant. Commuters are welcome to participate in the dinner and evening activities.
Day two of New Student Fall Welcome is required for all new incoming students, including commuter students and transfers. Programs and workshops include Academic Convocation, the Wellness Fair, the Engagement and Taking Care of Business Fair, classroom tours, affinity group receptions, and more. This is a mandatory full day of programs.

On Day 1, dinner is scheduled to begin at 6:00pm in the Sheehan Dining Hall. Night activities are scheduled to end around 10:30pm. On Day 2, please plan to arrive to campus for 8:15am. The program will begin in the Wellness Center Multipurpose Gym. Day 2 is scheduled to end at 4pm.

Yes. Day one of your program includes dinner. Day two includes breakfast, snack, and lunch. All meals wll be in the Sheehan Dining Hall.

Worcester State University’s Academic Convocation officially welcomes new students into Worcester State’s academic community and fosters a sense of belonging. It is a formal academic ceremony that, together with Commencement, will serve as bookends to your time here at Worcester State.
