  • Things to Do Before You Arrive

    Fall-Entry Checklist

    Accepted Student 1     Secure Your Spot
    Your first step in getting here is to submit your non-refundable deposit to the Admissions Office by May 1, unless noted otherwise on your acceptance letter. The deposit is $300 for on-campus resident students and $150 for commuter students.

    Log in to your WSU email and review the information available in the myWSU student portal. Your username and password can be found in your deposit confirmation letter. Offices will now begin to contact you through your WSU email regarding placement testing, course registration, and more. myWSU houses Blackboard (course material), WebAdvisor (course registration, student account management, and online payments), OneCard, and more. Your OneCard is your official identification, library, dining, and residence hall key card. Familiarize yourself with campus parking areas and requirements. All vehicles require a valid parking decal, visitor pass, or hang tag. Commuter parking decals will be mailed to home addresses before the start of the semester. Resident student parking decals are distributed on a limited basis. WSU requires all students to have laptops.     Accepted Student 3   Get Ready to Build Your Schedule
    Prepare to register for Registration Day or a Registration Workshop through the Academic Success Center. Tell your guidance office that you’ve been accepted and are coming to WSU so they can submit your final transcripts to the Admissions Office—AP scores, IB scores, CLEP test results, and college transcripts (if applicable). If you are a transfer student, submit your college and, if applicable, high school transcripts. Buy your books and supplies from the WSU Bookstore.

    Apply for financial aid if you haven’t already. The Financial Aid Office can assist you through the process and provide information about costs, tuition payment plans, and scholarship opportunities. Make payment arrangements with our Student Accounts Office or pay your bill online.

    If you indicated that you would like to live on campus, you will need to complete the Residence Hall License Agreement and Room Assignment Questionnaire. The Residence Hall License Agreement and Room Assignment Questionnaire will be emailed to incoming resident students starting April 1. (Be sure to check your WSU email.) Room rates, suggested items to bring, prohibited items, and info about the First-Year Residential Experience program can be found at Residence Life. Turn in all required health forms to our Health Services Office. (These forms must be received before resident students can move in; commuters before the start of classes).

    Accepted Student 6   Gear up for Orientation and Academic Convocation
    Worcester State University’s orientation programs are available for students and parents. Visit the Orientation page for dates, times, and locations, and to register online. Before the start of classes, you will be welcomed to our University academy at the Academic Convocation ceremony.
    Accepted Student 7   Enrich Your Experience
    Get involved in more than 35 student clubs and organizations, 19 varsity sports, and 9 intramural sports. Our Multicultural Affairs Office and International Programs Office can assist your adjustment to college with a host of programs. Explore study abroad programs and discover a new culture.
