Meet the CTL Team

As incoming director in fall 2025, Jamie will build on CTL’s excellent reputation as a hub for evidence-based comprehensive faculty development and community-building among faculty. Prior to her appointment as director, she served CTL as a member of the 2025 AI Student Competencies CoLab group, delivered workshops and presentations on active learning, open educational resources, and labor-based grading, and she provided leadership for the Shared Scholarship series from 2019 to 2022, along with co-organizer Alison Okuda. Jamie is eager to draw faculty together in generative interdisciplinary conversations and incubate innovative pedagogy and research.
In her spare time, Jamie likes to cook and bake, run, hike, and ride bikes.

In her role as Director, Emily provides leadership internally and externally for CTL: The Faculty Development Center. She chairs the CTL Advisory Committee, which keeps the CTL mission informed by diverse faculty perspectives and aligned across the curriculum. Additionally, Emily facilitates the New Faculty Orientation, Early Career Teaching Fellows, George I. Alden Excellence in Teaching Award initiatives, as well as semi-annual faculty development institutes.
In her free time, Emily practices yoga and knits.

Julie curates resources and creates programming to support faculty growth and inclusive, innovative pedagogy. One of Julie’s favorite things to do is facilitate learning communities and book discussions to connect faculty from different disciplines. Recent topics have included alternative grading and teaching with genAI. Have an idea? Send suggestions her way!
In her free time, Julie enjoys exploring nature through photography and running – celebrating completing her first marathon recently!

In her role as Faculty Fellow for Equity, Mary provides support to individual faculty, departments, and programs in the multiple aspects of diversity, equity, inclusion, intersectionality, as well as social justice efforts. Programs offered this year include syllabus review sessions and equity coffee house discussions.
In her free time, Mary enjoys yoga and cooking.
