Spring 2027

Between November 16-19, 2026 matriculated students will pre-register via Student Planning in their Self-Service account for Spring 2027. During this registration week, students will register by class standing for all courses (major, minor, foundation, LASC, distribution, electives).

Steps to Pre-Registration

1. Your registration information will be emailed to your WSU account. This email has the following:

  • status for registration approval
  • major, minor, and advising information
  • the appointment time for your registration (see below for registration days/time)

2. Course offerings will be available online through course lookup in Self-Service.

3. Make an appointment with your advisor between November 2-13, 2026. Plan your schedule during your advising session and have your advisor activate your registration account.

4. Register for your courses during your assigned period during November 16-19, 2026 in your Self-Service account.  If you miss your registration day/time you can always register anytime after that day/time.

  • Your registration day and time is determined by your current class standing based on completed credits (see below for class standing information).
  • Your registration information email will give you the day and time for your registration or see below for the preregistration days and times by class standing.  At your registration day and time, your student ID number will be activated (as long as your advisor activated your account) and you will be able to register for your courses in your Self-Service account.
  • Students are registering for all courses (major, minor, foundation, core, GenEd, LASC, distribution, electives) during the designated registration time.

  • Major Plus
As of fall 2021, all full-time, first-time students must declare a major with a minor or a double major of their own choosing and complete both for graduation:
    • All first-time, full-time students will declare a major with a minor or a double major by the completion of their first 45 credits.
    • All transfer students with 45 or fewer credits will be required to meet the major/minor/double major graduation requirement; transfer students with 46 credits or more would be encouraged, but not required, to fulfill the proposed major/minor/double major graduation requirements.
    • All students enrolled in combined undergraduate or “3+” programs will satisfy the major/minor/double major graduation requirement upon successful completion of their programs.
    • All students enrolled with a bachelor’s degree in hand will satisfy the major/minor/double major graduation requirement.
  • F: First-Year students. You will see they have an “F” after their catalog year (e.g. 2019F, 2020F, 2021F). For all “F” catalog years beginning 2021 forward, Major Plus is a requirement that allows these undergraduate students to combine their first major at WSU with another major or minor.

T: Transfer students. You will see that they have an “T” after their catalog year (e.g. 2019T, 2020T, 2021T).

P: Transfer Students with 45 credits or less that are required to complete the Major Plus program. These students will have a catalog year 2021 forward. You will see they have an “P” after their catalog year (e.g. 2021P).

M: Transfer students that have satisfied their general education foundation requirements (a set of 34 credits outlined by the DHE) at their previous institution. Beginning fall 2026 forward, transfer students that have satisfied these general educations foundation requirements do not have to complete any further WSU general education requirements. From 2021M - summer 2026, in order to satisfy LASC requirements at WSU these students with catalog year 2021M forward must take two courses (six credits) in any LASC content areas. For prior catalog years 2012M–2020M, these students must take a LASC capstone course and three-credit LASC content area to satisfy LASC requirements at WSU. You will see they will have an “M” after their catalog year (e.g. 2019M, 2020M, 2021M).
  • Full-time students who have not returned their immunization record, as required by state law, to the Student Health Services Department will NOT be allowed to register.
  • Undergraduate students in degree programs who register for nine credits or more will be charged for health insurance coverage, which is waivable under the terms of the health insurance laws.
  • Students wishing to take a one-course overload (above 19.0 credit hours) must fill out an overload permission form. These forms must be signed by the advisor and returned to the Office of the Registrar at the time of the overload course registration. Overloads without this approval will be occur.
  • Students who wish to repeat a course must file a course repeat form with the Registrar’s Office. Only the higher of the two grades is computed in the cumulative GPA. Course repeats must be taken at Worcester State University.
  • Official transcripts can be ordered by visiting worcester.edu/transcriptrequest. No transcript will be issued for or to a student with an outstanding financial obligation to the University.
  • University policy regarding the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act is available in the undergraduate and graduate catalog and on file in the Worcester State University library.
  • Statement of charges will be sent to all students by mid-December. Failure to clear the account by date specified on the bill will jeopardize your registration. No student with an outstanding financial obligation will be allowed to attend classes.
  • Financial aid from federal, state, and institutional sources is available to eligible students with demonstrated financial need. Students must meet requirements of specific aid programs and must also complete and file appropriate financial aid application forms by the financial aid deadline. Although applications will still be accepted after the University’s priority deadline, the University cannot guarantee that a determination of eligibility will be made prior to the student’s spring 2027 registration. Awards will be made on a funds-remaining basis.
  • Interested in taking a course that is not offered at Worcester State University? Worcester State University participates in cross-registration, whereby a student registered for a minimum of nine day credits at Worcester State may take one additional day course per semester (fall and spring only) free of charge at any of the following schools: Assumption University, Clark University, College of the Holy Cross, Nichols College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. For additional information regarding this opportunity and the cross-registration form, please visit worcester.edu/cross-registration.
