• Frequently Asked Questions about First-Year Student Orientation

Do I need to attend Orientation?

It is mandatory that you attend a first-year orientation program. Not only is this a chance for you to make new friends and become familiar with campus, but you also will be spending a lot of time learning about your academic program and other facets of campus life.

How am I notified after I register for Orientation?

Once you complete your registration, you will see a confirmation page that includes any additional program information that you may need to know. About a week prior to your session, you will receive an additional confirmation email reminding you about your program.

How early should I arrive on campus for Orientation?

If you are staying overnight during your Orientation program, check-in will be from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. in Dowden Hall. If you are commuting to campus for each day of the program, check-in will be from 9 to 9:30 a.m. in the Sullivan Auditorium Lobby. The program will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. in the Sullivan Auditorium.

If I stay overnight, what should I bring to Orientation?
